About Dimitri
Dimitri Maniatis founded Accent Legal after more than 20 years in practice, including 15-plus years at a leading dispute resolution firm. He advises on risk analysis, mitigation, and dispute resolution across industries such as construction, transportation (air and rail), and natural resources, with particular focus on mining. He has been recognized by Benchmark Litigation as a leading lawyer since 2014 and has appeared before all levels of the Canadian courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as before domestic and international arbitration tribunals. He studied management and economics at Concordia University before earning combined common law and civil law degrees (B.C.L./LL.B.) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from McGill University. He was called to the Quebec bar in 1999 and is also a member of the New York and Massachusetts bars, and formerly served on the Executive Committee of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Canadian Bar Association, Quebec Division. His representative work spans insolvency and restructuring, international commercial and mining arbitration, securities class actions, and construction disputes, including arguing before the Supreme Court of Canada in Cinar Corporation v. Robinson.
