About Derek

Derek Anderson's practice is centred entirely on defending individuals against criminal, quasi-criminal and regulatory charges. He graduated from the University of Alberta's Faculty of Law in 2008 and was admitted to the Law Society of Alberta in 2009, and he has appeared regularly before the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Court of Queen's Bench and argued appeals at the Alberta Court of Appeal, including twice as amicus curiae in lengthy murder matters. Before law school he earned a B.A.H. and M.A. in English literature from Acadia University, followed by eight years in South Korea as a university professor, program administrator and freelance journalist.
