About David
David Olesen maintains a broad practice covering business, commercial and corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, leasing, real estate development, licensing and franchise matters across a range of industries. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1996, starting at a small Toronto firm before becoming a partner at a mid-sized Toronto practice. After earning an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, he took a leave from law to serve as Director of Policy and Senior Advisor to Ontario's Minister of Finance, working on capital markets, banking and securities regulation, and taxation policy. He later worked in-house at a technology company as Chief Operations Officer and in-house counsel, eventually becoming President of an affiliate and helping bring a waste-to-energy technology from prototype to commercial use. Today David also advises businesses on management issues, working with small and medium-sized companies and real estate developers on business plans, financing, growth strategies, intellectual property protection and exit planning.
