About David
David Hager was called to the Ontario Bar in 1976 after earning his JD from the University of Toronto Law School in 1974 and a BA in Economics from the same university in 1971. He was a partner in the Employment & Labour Law Group and Advocacy and Litigation Group at McMillan LLP and its predecessor firms, including Lang Michener LLP, from 1981 to 2013, chairing the Employment & Labour Law Group from 1999 to 2008. He has appeared as counsel before all levels of Ontario courts, the Federal Court, the Tax Court of Canada, and the Supreme Court of Canada, handling wrongful and constructive dismissal, severance packages, employment contracts, shareholder disputes, and human rights complaints. He holds the Martindale-Hubbell BV Distinguished rating for ethical standards and professional ability, has volunteered with Pro Bono Law Ontario, and belongs to the Canadian Bar Association, the Metropolitan Toronto Lawyers Association, and the Toronto Lawyers Club.
