About David

David Nahwegahbow has advocated for the rights of First Nations peoples for decades, representing First Nations in land claims, Treaty and Aboriginal rights, and title cases, including at the Supreme Court of Canada in cases such as Tsilhqot'in. He received his LLB from the University of Ottawa and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1982. He's a founding member and former President of the Indigenous Bar Association and holds the Indigenous People's Counsel designation. David is Anishinabe from Whitefish River First Nation.
