About David
David Baxter is an associate at Samantha Eisen & Company who was called to the Ontario bar in 2025 after graduating with first class standing from the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University. During law school he served as V.P. Finance for the Law Students' Society, volunteered with the KindSpace Trans ID Clinic, and helped his team win Best Representation Plan at the 2025 Walsh Family Law Negotiation Competition. He completed his practice placement at the Legal Clinic of Guelph and Wellington County, handling matters before the Landlord and Tenant Board and the Social Benefits Tribunal, and worked as a student caseworker at the Pro Bono Students Canada Family Justice Centre. Before law school, David spent ten years as an academic librarian, including five years in mental health and addictions research, an experience he sees as good preparation for listening carefully to clients' needs. He is interested in all areas of family law, with a particular interest in non-traditional family structures.
