About Darren

Darren Mahoney graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 1999 and has built a family and criminal defence practice in Calgary over the past decade. Before entering private practice, he spent ten years as a Crown prosecutor for both the federal government and the Government of Alberta, working on high-profile drug prosecutions as a federal prosecutor and handling a wide range of offences, including murder, manslaughter, aggravated assault, and impaired driving causing death, as a provincial prosecutor. That combined experience as both defence counsel and Crown prosecutor gives him a broad perspective on navigating the criminal justice system.
