Intellectual PropertyDaria Strachan is a partner at Shields Hunt Duff Strachan with a wide range of advocacy experience at trial and appellate levels in both civil and commercial litigation, as well as before various administrative tribunals. Her practice includes employment and labour matters, human rights, national security, corporate restructurings, and administrative law, including cases involving medical cannabis. Strachan represents clients on wrongful and unjust dismissals, workplace investigations, and the protection of sensitive information and intellectual property, and is fluently bilingual in English and French. She is an Adjunct Professor in Civil Procedure at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, an Adjudicator for the Canadian Internet Registration Authority's domain name dispute resolution service, and volunteers as duty counsel with Pro Bono Ontario at the Ottawa Courthouse. Strachan was called to the Ontario Bar in 2001, holds Common Law and Civil Law degrees from Queen's University and l'Universite de Sherbrooke, and completed a certification in National Security Law at the University of Virginia. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and The Advocates' Society.
