About Danielle
An experienced criminal defence lawyer, Danielle Boisvert was born and raised in Edmonton. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with distinction from the University of Alberta in 2000 and attended Queen's University Faculty of Law, where she worked at the Queen's Legal Aid Clinic and was awarded the Robinson-Ryan Award in 2007. She was called to the Alberta bar in 2008 and has since handled a wide range of criminal matters, including sexual offences, violent offences and domestic violence, luring and child pornography offences, and youth offences. In 2023 she received the inaugural Criminal Trial Lawyers' Association Mary Moreau Award for her contributions to civil liberties and support for women in criminal defence practice. She is a Director and past President of the Criminal Trial Lawyers Association and led a job action against the Government of Alberta in 2022 that increased Legal Aid certificate fees for defence lawyers.
