Dairn Owen Shane is a Vancouver personal injury, medical malpractice, and estate lawyer, currently practising as Associate Counsel with Preszler Law BC. He earned an honours degree in psychology from McMaster University in 1989 and his law degree from the University of British Columbia in 1992, graduating as president of the Law Students' Association. He was called to the bar in Ontario in 1994 and in British Columbia in 1998, and worked as a legal writer for Western Legal Publications and Canada Law Book through the early 2000s. He joined Simpson Thomas & Associates in 2000, becoming a partner in 2014, before moving to Preszler Law BC in 2016. He has resolved more than 2,000 claims through settlement or trial, appeared twice as lead counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada, and won a 2003 constitutional decision in Trociuk v. Attorney General of British Columbia expanding fathers' rights on birth registration. In 2017 he successfully argued Saadati v. Moorhead before the Supreme Court of Canada, expanding how psychological injuries are established and compensated. He works on a contingency fee basis and offers services in Cantonese, Mandarin, Punjabi, and Hindi.
