About Chris
Chris Baxter is a partner in Goodmans' Tax Group, where he advises on income and commodity tax issues arising in corporate and commercial transactions. His work covers domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, public offerings, financings, debt restructurings, and real estate deals, and he has experience designing tax-driven reorganizations for private companies. His representative matters include acting for Atlantic Power in its acquisition by I Squared Capital, Berkshire Partners in its purchase of VetStrategy, Onex Corporation in its acquisition of WestJet Airlines, and Newmont Mining in its acquisition of Goldcorp. Chris earned his JD from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Science from St. Francis Xavier University, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2018.
