About Chelsey
Chelsey J. Cook was born and raised in Cornwall, graduating from Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School in 2005 and earning an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences (criminology specialization, psychology minor) from the University of Ottawa in 2009. She studied law at Bond University on the Gold Coast of Australia, receiving her Juris Doctor in 2013 and interning at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in Queensland. She articled at the firm in 2014 and was called to the Bar of the Law Society of Upper Canada on January 23, 2015. She then ran her own firm with a member of the local bar from 2015 to 2021 before returning to McDonald, Duncan, Doré LLP in the summer of 2021, becoming a partner in January 2022. She has focused her career on family law and civil litigation, and has expanded into real estate, wills and estates, and estate administration. She served on the board of the Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry Law Association from 2016 to 2021 and currently sits on the board of the Madagascar School Project.
