About Charlene
Charlene Schafer is a partner whose real estate practice centers on commercial transactions, particularly in the private equity, fund, and joint venture space. She advises domestic, cross-border, and international clients across the sector, including pension funds, fund sponsors and investors, REITs, developers, and institutional investors. Her experience includes forming and managing real estate funds, limited partnerships, and joint ventures, along with development and asset management matters. She regularly works on property and portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, sale-leaseback deals, and construction financing, and also advises on the real estate side of mergers and acquisitions and land transfer tax issues. She serves on the Canadian Bar Association's Real Property Executive and the board of the Georgian Triangle Humane Society.
