About Carla

Carla Sturdy is a senior lawyer at Lewis & Associates LLP, which she joined in 1996 when the firm was still small, helping it grow to its current size. She received her Bachelor of Arts with honours from the University of Toronto's Trinity College in 1988 and her Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia in 1993. Carla has dedicated her career to refugee law, and over more than twenty-five years of practice she has represented thousands of refugee claimants at hearings before Canada's Immigration and Refugee Board. Her broader immigration practice includes matters before the Immigration Appeal and Refugee Appeal Divisions, applications for judicial review in the Federal Court, and Humanitarian and Compassionate and Pre-Removal Risk Assessment applications.
