About Carl
Carl F. Winer practiced law for decades before retiring from the firm in January 2012, later becoming a Life Member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. Called to the bar in 1962, he began his career in downtown Toronto before relocating his practice to Etobicoke in 1972. His practice touched family and matrimonial law, litigation and small claims court, corporate and commercial law, and wills and powers of attorney, though real estate law remained his main focus. In 1968 he occasionally sat as a Deputy Judge in small claims court, and for about ten years he taught the real estate and landlord-tenant sections of the Ontario Bar Admission Course. He received his Queen's Counsel designation in 1978 and continues to visit the firm and be reached through its office.
