About Carey

Carey Leishman is a partner at BDL Family Law LLP in Calgary, where she practices exclusively as a family law lawyer and mediator. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws at the University of Calgary, graduating with her law degree in 2010, and articled at a mid-size firm before working with Pam Bell as a young associate, where she developed her interest in family law. She takes a straightforward, common-sense approach that helps clients understand their rights and options, while remaining a tough advocate in mediation, arbitration or court when needed. She has presented for Calgary Legal Guidance, SAIT, several Royal Bank branches and the Alberta Teachers' Association on estate planning and the Wills and Succession Act, and volunteers with the Calgary Immigrant Women's Association.
