Caitlin Clouthier is an associate in McKenzie Lake's Commercial Litigation Group, splitting time between the London and Guelph offices. The files range from fraud and construction litigation to mortgage enforcement, along with disputes over contracts and property.

Clouthier was called to the Ontario bar in 2026, a year after finishing a JD at the University of Western Ontario. It was moot competitions at Western that first drew Clouthier toward litigation and courtroom advocacy. Before law school came an honours BA at the University of Guelph, with a minor in Philosophy and an award for an honours thesis on how Indigenous peoples were perceived on Twitter after mass unmarked graves were found at Canadian residential schools.

As a first-generation student, Clouthier knows how hard the legal system can be to approach. Clouthier makes a point of giving plain, practical advice and breaking complicated procedures into manageable steps. Clouthier aims to combine careful advocacy with guidance that's easy to follow, so people feel supported from start to finish.

Clouthier grew up in a small town near Ottawa and still heads back to see family and friends there. Away from work, you'll usually find Clouthier reading or out walking and running.
