About Brent
Brent Anderson is a second-generation criminal lawyer whose trial practice focuses on serious offences, and he regularly conducts appeals. He has appeared at every level of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and has been appointed to prosecute serious offences, including homicides, on behalf of the Crown, as well as to act as amicus curiae. Since his call to the bar in 2011, Brent has practiced criminal law exclusively. He was a founding director of the Association of Legal Aid Lawyers and served on the bargaining committee that negotiated increased legal aid rates with the government. He coaches law students annually, supervises students through UBC's Law Students Legal Advice Program, and co-edited CanLII's Criminal Law Ebook, a free textbook available online.
