About Andrew

Andrew Kemp is a sole-practice lawyer and mediator in Prince George, British Columbia. He earned an LL.B. with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in 1996 and was called to the British Columbia bar in 1997. Before law school he worked for about ten years as an official court reporter, first in Manitoba and then in Prince George. He practised as an associate and later a partner at a Prince George firm before opening his own practice in the spring of 2009. His work focuses on wills and estate disputes (including wills variation claims), non-union employment law such as wrongful dismissal and restrictive covenants, personal injury claims, civil sexual assault claims, and debt collection; he does not practise family law. He is a civil mediator on the Civil Roster of the ADR Institute of British Columbia, a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia since 2000 (including a year on its Board of Governors), and a former president of the Cariboo Bar Association. He has also taught business law at the College of New Caledonia and, from 2011 to 2016, at the University of Northern British Columbia, and has been a Prince George resident since 1986.
