Andrew Harmes is a partner in the Restructuring Group at Goodmans. His practice covers corporate and commercial law with an emphasis on corporate restructurings and related transactions, including recapitalizations, acquisitions, commercial financing transactions, receivership proceedings, and corporate and insolvency restructurings. Harmes has represented debtors, secured and unsecured lenders and bondholders, court-appointed officers, plan sponsors, purchasers, and other stakeholders in complex restructurings, financings, and acquisitions. The Legal 500 Canada names him a Next Generation Partner, IFLR1000 and Legal Media Group's Expert Guides call him a Rising Star, and Best Lawyers in Canada lists him among its Ones to Watch for insolvency and financial restructuring law. He's co-authored the Canada chapters of several publications on restructuring and insolvency law and has written papers presented at the Six-Minute Debtor-Creditor and Insolvency Lawyer seminars in 2016, 2018, and 2022. Harmes has also served as a panelist and moderator at Ontario Bar Association insolvency law events and previously won the Insolvency Institute of Canada's Law Student Writing Award.
