Andrew Cleland acts as counsel out of the Montreal office of Klein Avocats Plaideurs. Andrew Cleland works with consumers, workers, victims of human-rights violations and communities to help them assess their legal options and pursue remedies. After graduating from the McGill University Faculty of Law in 2011, Andrew Cleland began a career at a Montreal firm specializing in class actions and public-interest litigation, representing consumers, workers and victims of human-rights violations in class actions against financial institutions and wireless providers before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Quebec Court of Appeal and the Quebec Superior Court. Andrew Cleland has also advocated for victims and communities affected by the social and environmental impacts of Canadian companies operating abroad. Before practising in Quebec, Andrew Cleland worked for the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, Canada's Permanent Mission to the UN Human Rights Council, and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. Since March 2018, Andrew Cleland has practised independently, helping under-represented people understand and assert their rights.
