About Amelia

Amelia Choi is the founder and president of ChoiTechAndLaw Professional Corporation, an Ottawa intellectual property and technology law firm. She is a barrister and solicitor, a registered trademark agent, and a notary public in Ontario, advising clients on IP protection, enforcement and related corporate matters. Before practising law, Amelia held senior corporate leadership roles in the high-tech and information technology sector, including delivering large-scale telecommunications and IT infrastructure programs, which she draws on in her legal practice. She has represented clients before the Trademark Opposition Board and provided litigation support in pharmaceutical and technology patent trials before the Federal Court of Canada. Amelia earned her J.D. from the University of Ottawa, an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University, and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from De La Salle University, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2009. She is active with the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, and the International Trademark Association, where she has chaired several committees.
