Alyssa Jervis is licensed to practice law in Ontario and practices criminal defence, mental health law, human rights, and Indigenous law. She has worked with clients on criminal, quasi-criminal, and administrative matters before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Court of Appeal. She earned her BA and MA in English language and literature from the University of Guelph, graduating summa cum laude, then completed her law degree at Western University's Faculty of Law with a special designation in criminal law, along with recognition for her work at Community Legal Services and with Pro Bono Students Canada. In 2018 she was selected for a Debwewin Internship with the Ministry of the Attorney General's Indigenous Justice Division, which sparked her interest in systemic racial injustice in Canadian law and in wrongful convictions work.
