About Alexandre

Alexandre Bélanger is the founder of B W Avocats (Bélanger Walcott Avocats), a criminal and penal defence firm based in Montérégie, Quebec. Bélanger earned a law degree from the Université de Montréal in 2007 and was admitted to the Barreau du Québec in 2008, after an exchange program in New Mexico where Bélanger studied common law and the American judicial system. Before practising law full time, Bélanger spent years in policing, first with the Sûreté du Québec and then for twelve years with the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal, working as an investigator, judicial-authorizations advisor, and detective sergeant in criminal investigations. Since 2012, Bélanger has focused the practice on criminal law, including two years as a federal prosecutor with the Public Prosecution Service of Canada. Bélanger's practice covers impaired driving, crimes against the person, sexual offences, business-related criminal offences, and professional discipline matters before regulatory bodies such as the OACIQ and the AMF.
