About Alan

Alan Perello practises family law, criminal law, and wills and estates at Watson & Company. He's a graduate of Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia's law school, and has been called to the bars of both Ontario and British Columbia. He began his career in Ontario, where his practice covered civil litigation, family law, criminal defence and prosecutions, child protection matters, real estate, wills and estates, and municipal law. Alan first came to the Kootenays in 1991 and later made the West Kootenay his permanent home. He has served on the board and as executive director of the Kootenay Kids Society, and spent nine years chairing the RDCK Advisory Planning Council for Area G. He has appeared at all levels of court, including the Court of Appeal, and describes his approach as practical and communication-focused.
