About Church & Company

Church & Company is a Vancouver litigation firm that doesn't practice outside civil litigation, with an emphasis on complex commercial disputes. David P. Church, K.C. founded the firm in 2001, after more than 35 years of civil litigation experience at trial and appellate levels since being called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1983. Before starting the firm, Church was a partner at another Vancouver litigation firm and, earlier still, at a large full-service firm. The firm's other lawyer, Andrew J. Pearson, was called to the bar in 1989 and started out as a corporate solicitor before moving into civil litigation.

The firm's work covers corporate and commercial litigation, construction disputes, class actions, securities litigation, administrative and regulatory matters, employment law, and wills and estates litigation, along with arbitration and mediation. Both lawyers have appeared at all levels of the Superior Courts of British Columbia, the Federal Court, and the Supreme Court of Canada, and Church has also argued cases before the Alberta Court of King's Bench. Church says many of the firm's files arrive as referrals from other law firms handling complex, multi-party matters. Church has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada for corporate and commercial litigation continuously since 2006, and carries an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell's peer review ratings.
