Cedar Coast Law Group is a small law firm in East Vancouver whose roots go back to 1969, when Frank Turco founded a firm on Commercial Drive. Michael Moscovich joined in 1972, and Ian Aikenhead came on board a few years after that, fresh out of law school. The practice eventually moved to the First Avenue Marketplace building on East 1st Avenue, where it has stayed since the 1980s.
At that location, Ian Aikenhead earned a King's Counsel designation and mentored the lawyers who would later become partners, Dustin Paul, Kepler Rotheisler, and Mark Trischuk. That group eventually renamed the practice from AMJ Law to Cedar Coast Law Group. The firm today handles wills and estates, corporate matters, civil litigation, and real estate, and describes its lawyers as people who have lived and worked in East Vancouver for most or all of their lives. It says it aims to keep clients in direct contact with their own lawyers and to charge reasonable fees rather than big firm rates.
