Verkhovets Law is a personal injury firm in Vaughan, Ontario, run by partners Mariya Verkhovets and Diana Verkhovets. The firm represents people hurt in motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, and dog bites and other animal attacks, and it also handles long-term disability claims and other disability insurance claims covering critical illness, mental health conditions, and mortgage coverage. It works on contingency, so clients don't pay legal fees or cover case expenses until a claim settles, and the contingency fee is capped at 35 percent plus HST and disbursements. Mariya Verkhovets began legal studies with a bachelor's and master's degree in civil law from the National University's Odessa Law Academy in Ukraine, then completed a JD and an LLM at Osgoode Hall Law School. Diana Verkhovets earned a JD from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law in 2018 and an LLM in alternative dispute resolution from Osgoode Hall, along with an earlier master's degree in globalization, poverty, racism, and education from McMaster University. Verkhovets Law is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the York Region Law Association, and the Peel Law Association.
