About Unmarry.ca

Unmarry.ca is an online divorce mediation service based in Vaughan, Ontario, working with separating couples in Toronto and Vaughan. Instead of operating as a courtroom-facing family law firm, it built its practice around video conferencing and an automated document-drafting platform, so one mediator works with both spouses toward a separation agreement rather than each side hiring separate litigation counsel.

The mediator is Irene Papaconstantinos, who holds a B.A. in Psychology from York University and an LL.B. from the University of Windsor and has been a member of the Ontario Bar since 2002. Papaconstantinos trained in collaborative law and is a qualified mediator with the ADR Institute of Canada. Co-founder Keith Riddell holds an LL.B. from the University of Aberdeen and an M.Sc. in Business Management, and spent years directing process and technology improvement work at other Canadian law firms before helping build Unmarry.ca's online model.

The service runs on a fixed package: for $2,999.99 plus HST per couple, Unmarry.ca provides a separation agreement, financial statements for both spouses, the documents needed to file for divorce in Ontario, and four hours of mediation time, with additional mediator time billed at $350 an hour plus HST. It's built for couples with a lower level of conflict who would rather settle their own terms than go through court. (Fees as of September 2026.)
