JZC Intellectual Property Law is a solo intellectual property practice based in Thornhill, Ontario, serving businesses across the Greater Toronto Area, including Markham and Richmond Hill, by appointment. It's built around founder Jerry Z. Chen, who is licensed with the Law Society of Ontario and registered as a patent and trademark agent with the College of Patent Agents and Trademark Agents of Canada. Chen holds a law degree from the University of Toronto and a science degree from Western University, and has practiced intellectual property law and litigation since 2011, after starting at a national intellectual property law firm. Chen has appeared before the Federal Court and provincial courts, and was counsel in one of Canada's largest patent infringement trials.

The firm's practice covers trademarks, patents, copyright, and international filings under the Madrid Protocol and the Patent Cooperation Treaty, with most of the caseload coming from small and medium-sized local and e-commerce businesses. JZC Intellectual Property Law is one of the partner firms selected for Amazon's IP Accelerator program in Canada, helping sellers register trademarks and enroll in Amazon's Brand Registry. It has counted itself among the top 10 Canadian trademark filers for Canadian applicants since 2023. Chen practices in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese, and belongs to the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
