About Plaxton and Mann

Plaxton and Mann is a small real estate, wills, and estates practice in York Region, Ontario, now run by Michelle E. Hubert as Michelle E. Hubert Professional Corporation. Hubert took over the firm's Richmond Hill practice when Donald G. Plaxton retired in the summer of 2017, and continues it under the established Plaxton and Mann name. The practice also carries forward two other long-standing York Region firms. Patrick C. Hengen practiced law in Richmond Hill for nearly 50 years before retiring in February 2017 and handing that client base to Hubert. Clarke G. Smith practiced in Aurora and Schomberg for 40 years before retiring in August 2015, and that Aurora practice continues under Hubert as well.

The firm handles real estate closings, wills, powers of attorney for property and personal care, estate administration, private mortgages for both lenders and borrowers, and business incorporations. Associate lawyer Morvarid Manzouri, who earned a law degree in Tehran and practiced there before immigrating to Canada, joined the firm as a paralegal in 2021, later completed an LLM at Osgoode Hall Law School, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2026. The firm keeps offices in Richmond Hill and Aurora, with a Schomberg office available by appointment, serving York Region and nearby communities including Newmarket, Bradford, and King City.
