About Uncu & Uncu Law Firm

Uncu & Uncu Law Firm is a small practice on Erie Street East in Windsor, Ontario, handling criminal defence, provincial offences, immigration and refugee law, estate planning and notary public work. Tumay Uncu, co-founder of the firm, built a criminal defence career in Turkiye and Germany that ran more than ten years before moving to Canada. Uncu holds an LL.B. from Kocaeli University, a graduate degree in criminal law from the University of Regensburg, a forensic science degree from Aix-Marseille University and a Ph.D. from Istanbul University. Further studies followed at the University of Michigan Law School, Osgoode Hall Law School and the Peter A. Allard School of Law, and Uncu was called to the Bar in Ontario (LSO #94979I) and is pursuing admission to the State Bar of Michigan.

That background carries into the day to day work. Uncu practices in English, Turkish and German, while law clerk and interpreter Faruk Akcelik works with clients in English, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. That range lets the firm take on immigration and criminal matters for clients who'd otherwise need a separate interpreter, alongside its wills, powers of attorney and notarization work.
