About Tumay

Tumay Uncu is a co-founder of Uncu & Uncu Law Firm with over a decade of experience in criminal defence across multiple jurisdictions. He completed his LL.B. at Kocaeli University in Turkiye, a Master's degree in Criminal Law at the University of Regensburg in Germany, a degree in Forensic Science at Aix-Marseille University in France, and a Ph.D. at Istanbul University in Turkiye. He practised as a criminal defence lawyer in both Turkiye and Germany for more than ten years before relocating to Canada, where he completed an LL.M. at the University of Michigan Law School and further studies at Osgoode Hall Law School and the Peter A. Allard School of Law to meet National Committee on Accreditation requirements. He is called to the bar in Ontario and is in the process of seeking admission to the State Bar of Michigan, and his practice focuses on criminal law and provincial offences, immigration and refugee law, and estate planning. He is fluent in English, Turkish, and German.
