Christensen Law Firm is a Cambridge, Ontario practice built around one job: recovering money for creditors. Todd Christensen founded it in 1993, when contingency-fee collections were the business of collection agencies rather than law firms, and set out to bring a law firm's tools to that work. The firm proved the approach early with the Bank of Nova Scotia. It now takes files from banks and from smaller credit grantors that don't usually get law-firm attention, and it handles them the same way.
The work is contingency-based, so a client pays no fee unless the firm recovers money, plus out-of-pocket disbursements. A file usually opens with a law-firm demand letter and a follow-up call, with room for a voluntary payment plan or a settlement when a debtor can't pay in full. If that doesn't resolve it, the firm sues, obtains judgment, and enforces it, through wage or bank garnishment, a writ of seizure and sale, or a court-supervised sale of real estate. The firm describes its style as recovering debts respectfully rather than through pressure, and several of its own collection files have produced reported court decisions on what creditors can recover and how judgments get enforced.

ContingencyThe office is at 6616 Ellis Road in Hespeler, the most northeastern of the communities (Galt, Preston, Hespeler, and Blair) that were joined to form Cambridge in 1973. Hespeler grew up around the Speed River, and Highway 401 is one of the main routes through the city. That road access suits the kind of work done here better than a downtown address would. The firm isn't chasing walk-in clients; it's taking creditor files and pursuing judgments in whatever Ontario court the debtor and the assets happen to be in, then enforcing them against wages, bank accounts, or real estate. So the setting is a business address on a well-connected corridor rather than a storefront on a main street.
