About Tweyman Law

Tweyman Law is a family law firm with offices in Toronto and Oshawa. Its principal, Martin Tweyman, has practiced family law for more than 40 years, and the firm's associate lawyer, Vince Lai Yun Yeung, holds a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School and a BA (Hons) from the University of Toronto. The firm's work covers custody and access disputes, child and spousal support, equalization of net family property, and divorce, and it also takes on wills and estates and real estate matters. Its approach, summed up in the firm's motto "Moving Life Forward," is to work toward settlement, though its lawyers say they're prepared to go to trial when a case calls for it.

Tweyman's family law experience reaches beyond the firm's own files. Tweyman has served as a panel member for the Office of the Children's Lawyer, contributed to the development of Ontario's Supervised Access Program, and spent more than 25 years on the Legal Aid Area Committee hearing appeals. Tweyman also helped pioneer the Parent Information Program, an early version of a course now required of separating parents in Ontario family court, and currently serves as a dispute resolution officer in Durham Region. Yeung is fluent in English and French, and worked as a legal researcher and volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act Alliance while in law school.
