About Teitel Family Law

Teitel Family Law is a Toronto family law practice run by lawyer Jared Teitel from an office on King Street West. The firm covers the full span of family law matters, from marriage contracts and cohabitation agreements through divorce, parenting and custody arrangements, child and spousal support, and the division of property and equalization between married and common law spouses. Clients can work through a dispute in whichever way fits their situation: a negotiated domestic contract, mediation with a neutral third party, or litigation when a matter has to go before a judge.

Teitel appears at all three levels of Ontario's family courts, the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. The firm's website lists reported decisions going back to 2017, including a 2023 Court of Appeal ruling in Karatzoglou v. Commisso and a 2022 Court of Appeal decision in Bell v. Fishka. Teitel has also presented at continuing legal education programs for the Law Society of Ontario and the Ontario Bar Association. Before opening Teitel Family Law, Teitel practiced with Normandin Chris LLP and was named to Streets of Toronto's Top Lawyers list for family law in 2022 and 2023.
