About Maple Crown Law

Maple Crown Law is a solo law practice run by Tariq Javed, a barrister and solicitor. Javed has practiced law in Ontario since 2011, working across criminal, family, immigration, real estate, and civil litigation matters. The firm is based in Scarborough, with a second office in Whitby that extends its reach into Durham Region.

The practice covers a wide range of matters. On the immigration side, it handles refugee and asylum claims, family sponsorship, permanent residence applications, work and study permits, and C11 work permits for entrepreneurs. Its family law work spans divorce, custody, support, and separation agreements, while its criminal defence practice covers impaired and dangerous driving, assault, drug, and weapons charges. The firm also drafts wills and powers of attorney, handles real estate purchases, sales, and refinancing, and takes on some matters on a pro bono basis for clients facing financial hardship or urgent circumstances.
