About Lester Davies

Lester Davies is a family law and estate litigation practice with a single office on McNicoll Avenue in Scarborough, serving Toronto and the surrounding GTA, including Markham, North York, Pickering, Ajax, and Whitby. The firm is named for its founder, Lester Davies, who graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School with a J.D. in 1978 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1980. Davies went on to earn mediation certification from the Law Society of Ontario in 1990 and certification in Collaborative Family Law in 2003.

The practice covers separation and divorce, property and asset claims, child custody and access, spousal and child support, and marriage contracts, along with wills, estate planning, estate litigation, estate administration, and civil litigation. Rather than heading straight to court, the firm looks first at mediation and collaborative approaches, turning to litigation only when a resolution cannot be reached another way. More than 40 years after being called to the bar, Davies still handles family and estate matters personally, from an uncontested divorce to a dispute over an estate.
