I've just been arrested. What should I do first?

Ask to speak with a lawyer right away. Section 10 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms gives you that right, and police are required to hold off on further questioning until you've had a private consultation with counsel.

Do I have to appear in court myself for every step of my case?

Not always. You can file a designation of counsel to have your lawyer appear on your behalf for many appearances, though you'll still need to attend in person for things like plea, sentencing and trial.

Does Saini Law only handle criminal cases, or can it help with immigration too?

Alongside criminal defence, Saini Law takes on some immigration matters, including study permit, work permit and temporary or permanent residency applications.

I've been charged with impaired driving in Brampton or Peel Region. Can Saini Law represent me?
