Rubenstein, Siegel is a small Toronto law firm with four lawyers, working out of a single office on Sheppard Avenue East in the city's north end. Founding partner David Rubenstein leads the firm alongside Joshua Siegel, and the practice says it has served financial institutions, businesses, and individuals for more than 35 years. It organizes its work into six areas: collections, mortgage enforcement, real estate law, litigation and dispute resolution, bankruptcy and insolvency, and landlord and tenant matters.

Much of that work is institutional. The firm acts for banks, trust companies, and private lenders in mortgage enforcement, and it runs collection files for financial institutions, businesses, and individuals, pairing in-house collectors with its lawyers before a file moves to court. Siegel has practiced litigation for more than 25 years and has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and the Supreme Court of Canada, and the firm says its litigation group took part in one of Toronto's earliest court-annexed mediation pilot programs. Michael Rubenstein, an associate at the firm, holds law degrees from the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy along with an undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo.
