DeMarco was a partner at Macleod Dixon LLP, then Norton Rose Canada LLP and Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, from 2002 to 2014, before becoming senior partner at what is now Resilient LLP. Jonathan McGillivray, called to the Ontario bar in 2017, joined the firm as a partner in June 2024. The firm's lawyers regularly attend United Nations climate negotiations, including the 2015 talks that produced the Paris Agreement and the Article 6 carbon market rules agreed at COP26 in Glasgow. Environmental Finance named the firm its "Best Law Firm" for GHG markets in North America in 2021.
