Lisa DeMarco was called to the Ontario bar in 1997 and to the bar of England and Wales in 2012, after degrees in environmental biology, environmental toxicology, and environmental law. DeMarco was a partner at Macleod Dixon LLP, then Norton Rose Canada LLP and Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, from 2002 to 2014, before becoming senior partner at what is now Resilient LLP. Jonathan McGillivray, called to the Ontario bar in 2017, joined the firm as a partner in June 2024. The firm's lawyers regularly attend United Nations climate negotiations, including the 2015 talks that produced the Paris Agreement and the Article 6 carbon market rules agreed at COP26 in Glasgow. Environmental Finance named the firm its "Best Law Firm" for GHG markets in North America in 2021.

Resilient LLP's office is on the fifth floor of 33 Bloor Street East, a 17 storey tower originally built as the Xerox Centre before the office market slowdown of the early 1990s. The building sits directly above what has been called Canada's busiest subway interchange, where the Yonge and Bloor subway lines cross, and its owner completed a $25 million renovation of the lobby and street level in 2020 that extended the Bloor Street retail strip and added a climate controlled walkway to Yonge Street.
The firm's work isn't tied to a single courthouse or local registry. Its lawyers appear before energy regulators across the country and attend United Nations climate negotiations abroad, so the Bloor and Yonge office functions as a home base in the middle of downtown Toronto's business district rather than a walk in storefront practice.
