About Peter J. Salah Family Law

Peter J. Salah Family Law is a solo family law practice based in Midtown Toronto, at 124 Merton Street near Yonge and Davisville. Founder Peter Salah has practiced family law since being called to the Ontario bar in 2000, after articling with Hills & Associates starting in July 1998 and earning an LLB from Dalhousie University and an Honours BA in Philosophy with a Certificate in Criminology from Saint Mary's University, both in Halifax. From January 2002 through November 2020, Salah was a partner at Hills, Salah LLP before opening this independent practice on December 1, 2020, to focus exclusively on family law.

The firm handles custody and access, child and spousal support, property division and equalization of net family property, exclusive possession of the matrimonial home, trust claims and other property disputes, restraining orders, and motions to vary final orders. It also prepares marriage contracts and cohabitation agreements. Rather than defaulting to litigation, the practice works through negotiation, mediation, and collaborative family law, turning to court only when a resolution can't be reached another way. Salah is a member of Collaborative Divorce Toronto and the Toronto Lawyers Association.
