About Parsons Law

Parsons Law is a small, Toronto based practice founded by Kent Parsons in 2011, not long after Parsons graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School. Rather than growing into a multi-lawyer shop, the firm has stayed narrow: it handles residential real estate transactions and estate administration, and nothing else. Parsons handles each file personally, from the first call through to closing or final distribution.

Before opening the practice, Parsons articled at a large Bay Street law firm. In the years since, the firm has helped thousands of clients buy, sell and refinance homes, and has guided families through the practical work of settling an estate: applying for a Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee, gathering and valuing assets, paying creditors, and distributing what's left to beneficiaries. The office is at Yonge and Eglinton in midtown Toronto, and the firm describes itself as having worked with clients for more than a decade.

The neighbourhood

Parsons Law's office sits at Yonge and Eglinton, a neighbourhood that has been a corporate and commercial hub in Toronto for decades. The intersection is home to corporate offices for companies including Canadian Tire and TVOntario, and to Canada Square, an office tower complex right at the corner. A 2017 Toronto Life survey placed the area first in Toronto for transit, safety, health, entertainment and employment.

Eglinton subway station, part of the same intersection, is now also a transfer point for Line 5, the Eglinton light rail line that began carrying passengers in 2026 after years of construction along the avenue. The neighbourhood's history goes back further than any of that: it started out as a farming settlement in the early 1800s, was incorporated as its own town, North Toronto, in 1890, and wasn't annexed into the City of Toronto until 1912.
