About OBVLaw

OBVLaw is a criminal and family law firm with offices in Concord, in the City of Vaughan, and in Mississauga. It opened in 2011 as O. Benjamin Vincents Law Office, a sole practice, and has grown into OBVLaw Professional Corporation with two lawyers. The firm handles Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act charges, from bail hearings through trial, and family law matters including divorce, child and spousal support, parenting arrangements, and Children's Aid Society proceedings.

Founder Okechukwu Benjamin Vincents was called to the Ontario bar in 2011 and to the Nigerian bar in 1998, and holds a PhD in law from the National University of Singapore along with two Master of Laws degrees, from Uppsala University and Lund University in Sweden. Before establishing the practice, Vincents worked and studied law in Africa, Europe, and Southeast Asia, and has published peer reviewed articles on subjects including internet privacy, copyright infringement, and human rights. Associate counsel Oyewande Adeyemi Ayoola joined the firm as a summer student in 2015, articled there, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2019 after earning a law degree from the University of Kent and a business degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.
