About Schwartz & Schwartz
Schwartz & Schwartz traces back to 1949, when Saul Schwartz opened a solo practice on Kingston Road in Toronto's east end. In the early 1960s the practice moved to Bathurst and Lawrence, where Harvey Jacobson joined, and the two built a client base of independent home builders and entrepreneurs largely through word of mouth. Jeffrey Schwartz joined the practice in 1982, and it became known as Schwartz Jacobson Schwartz. Saul Schwartz and Jeffrey Schwartz worked side by side until Saul Schwartz passed away in 2015 after more than 60 years in practice, and the firm continues to represent the children and grandchildren of many of its original clients.
Jeffrey Schwartz now leads the firm as President and CEO alongside partner David Kelman, associate Gleb Bazov, and counsel Lawrence Goldapple. Jeffrey Schwartz holds a Master of Laws degree and is a past Chair of the Real Property Section of the Canadian Bar Association (Ontario). From its office on Wilson Avenue in North York, the firm handles real estate transactions, private mortgage financing, business and corporate law, wills and estate planning, civil litigation, and commercial leasing for clients across Toronto and the wider Greater Toronto Area.
