About Rimer Law

Rimer Law is a law practice led by Arlene Rimer, based in North York and serving clients across Toronto, North York, Vaughan and the wider GTA. The practice covers business and corporate law, immigration and refugee law, entertainment and technology law, wills and estates, and mediation. North York ran as its own municipality until Toronto's 1998 amalgamation folded it into the city.

Before practising law, Arlene Rimer worked as a filmmaker, and the firm's entertainment law work grew out of that background: setting up production companies, drafting talent, distribution and co-production agreements, and protecting intellectual property for creative clients. On the immigration side, Rimer Law takes on refugee claims, admissibility and detention matters, judicial reviews and sponsorship applications, and it's registered with Legal Aid Ontario to accept immigration and refugee certificates alongside privately retained files. Arlene Rimer is also a trained mediator, which the firm offers as an alternative to litigation. New clients can book a free 30 minute initial consultation.
