About NIKA LAW LLP

NIKA LAW LLP is a wills, estates, and elder law firm based in Etobicoke, on the Toronto side of the Mississauga border in the Greater Toronto Area. It's co-founded by lawyers Nithila Murugadas and Kavina Nagrani, who built the firm to combine solicitor-side estate planning with estate litigation under one roof. Nagrani spent more than a decade in business and technology consulting before turning to law, and had already built an estates practice at a Toronto business law firm before co-founding NIKA LAW. Murugadas started out as a litigator at a Toronto civil litigation firm before bringing that courtroom background to estate disputes. Records on the firm's own site show it was already operating under the NIKA LAW name by June 2020.

The practice covers wills, estate planning, probate, trusts, powers of attorney, and estate litigation, including will challenges, dependant support claims, and financial elder abuse cases. In December 2025 the firm added collaborative law, a process meant to resolve estate and incapacity disputes without going to court. It also publishes client guidance on Islamic wills, explaining how testators can honour Sharia inheritance rules while keeping an estate plan valid under Ontario law. The office is in Bloor Islington Place, directly above the Islington subway station, and the firm serves Etobicoke, Mississauga, and Brampton.

The neighbourhood

NIKA LAW's office sits in Bloor Islington Place, at Bloor Street West and Islington Avenue, with the Islington subway station directly beneath the building. That gives clients from the Kingsway, Mimico, and Sunnylea, three residential neighbourhoods in south Etobicoke, direct transit access to the firm.

The location also puts the firm close to the Etobicoke Civic Centre, where local probate applications are filed, a practical fit for a firm whose work regularly runs through that process.
