McMaster, McIntyre & Smyth, LLP is a small law firm in the Junction area of Toronto, on Dundas Street West. The practice traces back to 1902, when William Alexander McMaster, a new Osgoode Hall graduate, opened an office in what was then the community of Toronto Junction. The firm changed offices and names several times over the following decades: a partnership formed in 1909, a move to the Rowntree Building in 1913, and later an independent office above a bank branch on Dundas Street West. The name became McMaster and McMaster when two sons joined, then McMaster, McMaster and McIntyre after Roy McIntyre was admitted. Roy McIntyre's son in law, James Alexander Smyth, a chartered accountant who retrained as a lawyer, joined in the late 1970s, and the firm eventually took the name it carries today.
The firm has occupied its current building at 2777 Dundas Street West since 1984. It is now led by two partners, William Alexander (Sandy) McIntyre, the founder's grandson, and Dorinda Lin Chiang. The practice covers residential real estate, corporate and commercial law, wills and powers of attorney, and estate and trust administration, serving clients across the Greater Toronto Area including Peel, York, Durham, and Halton. Services are offered in English, Cantonese, and Maltese, and the firm has met clients at home or in care facilities when travel isn't possible.

By appointmentMcMaster, McIntyre & Smyth's office sits on Dundas Street West in the Junction, a west end Toronto neighbourhood that grew up as a separate railway town before it was annexed by the city. The firm's own history shows its offices moving along that same stretch of Dundas Street West for most of the 1900s. Founder William Alexander McMaster started out at 76 Dundas Street West, apparently a branch office of another lawyer's practice, before the firm established a partnership office at 936 Keele Street in 1909 and later a location above a Bank of Montreal branch at 2958 Dundas Street West. The building the firm occupies today, at 2777 Dundas Street West, wasn't always a law office either. Before the firm renovated it and moved in in 1984, the space had been used as a kitchen cabinet shop, a laundry, and a plumbing supply shop.
