About Maddalena Fuller

Maddalena Fuller Family Law is a family law practice on Gladstone Avenue in Toronto, named for founding partner Maddalena Fuller. Fuller holds a fine arts degree from Concordia University and a joint degree in common and civil law from McGill University, earned in 2009, and has practiced in the Ontario Court of Justice and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice since 2010. Partner Samantha Coomara was called to the Ontario bar in 2018 after law school at the University of Calgary, where family law clinical work through the university's Student Legal Assistance clinic led to court and tribunal appearances that now include the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Federal Court of Appeal.

The firm's practice covers separation and divorce, parenting and support arrangements, and property division under Ontario's Family Law Act, along with wills, powers of attorney, cohabitation agreements, and fertility and donor agreements for surrogacy, egg donation, embryo donation and sperm donation under Canada's Assisted Human Reproduction Act, 2004. It favours mediation and the collaborative process, an out of court method that draws on relationships with professionals such as accountants, valuators, social workers and parenting coordinators to negotiate a settlement instead of litigating it. Associate lawyer Sheema Ali, who studied at McGill, Dalhousie, and Osgoode Hall Law School, began working in the legal field as an office administrator at Legal Aid Ontario before volunteering with a family law legal clinic in Brampton during law school.
