About Lewis Litigation

Lewis Litigation is a small litigation firm in downtown Toronto. Atrisha Lewis founded the firm in 2025 after 14 years on Bay Street, most recently as a partner at McCarthy Tetrault LLP. The firm held its public launch event in Toronto in September 2025, when the team numbered five people. It handles commercial and civil litigation, class actions, medical malpractice, personal injury, professional liability, and administrative, constitutional, and education law, and it takes on matters from clients across Ontario.

Before starting the firm, Lewis spent years as a trial and appellate litigator, arguing cases at every level of court in commercial disputes and professional liability matters. Lewis was elected a bencher of the Law Society of Ontario in 2019, among the youngest lawyers ever elected to that role, and now chairs the Law Society's Professional Development and Competence Committee. In 2021, Lewis received the Globe and Mail's Changemakers award. The team also includes an associate who worked as a registered nurse before law school and now leads the firm's medical malpractice group, and another associate who came to law after studying biochemistry and working as in house counsel.

The neighbourhood

Lewis Litigation's office is at 36 Toronto Street, in a heritage designated building known as the Excelsior Life Building. Architect E. J. Lennox built the original structure in 1914.

A 1986 and 1987 addition joined the Lennox building to the older Millichamps building next door with a shared glass atrium, and a 2014 restoration renewed the terracotta and granite facade. The building falls within the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Heritage Conservation District.
